Smart customs implementation by the end of the year
Iranian Customs Spokesman: Currently, it is trying to implement smart customs to eliminate human interference and perform legal duties and guide stakeholders and service recipients in the path of smart customs.
According to the International Exhibition of Iranian Stone, Seyed Ruhollah Latifi stated: "Iranian Customs has become an electronic organization that removes paper from its processes by following all procedures, including correspondence, customs formalities, licenses, payments and controls electronically." It is currently working to implement smart customs to eliminate human interference and perform legal duties and to guide stakeholders and service recipients in the path of smart customs.
Iran's customs spokesman continued: "Currently, several customs smartening projects are being carried out simultaneously, which can be done by intelligent virtualization of customs supervision, by launching social networks of economic activists and mobile customs with the aim of boosting production, facilitating trade and export development." He added: "Moving to mobile customs to cover all customs processes and ceremonies, as well as the use of an integrated platform for information and the creation of an extensive network of licensed economic actors and stakeholders are among the new strategies of customs information systems in developed countries." For this purpose, Islamic Iran has taken serious action by using domestic power and indigenous knowledge, and the first phase of this issue began last year during the government week, and is currently being pursued with the launch of the "Ma" social network.
Regarding overcoming the country's corona conditions in benefiting from the e-organization, Latifi said: "Despite the necessary platform in Iran's customs and to prevent the spread of corona virus, in addition to providing remote access, it is possible to connect managers and customs staff to related systems." The Secretary of the Customs Information Council stated: "In addition, Iran's Customs has put virtualization on the agenda in the first phase by implementing a virtual expert plan with regard to intelligent control policy and fair distribution of customs activities and increasing the speed of clearance of goods." It has unified customs operations and automatic distribution of declarations throughout the country.
Regarding the Customs Virtual Experts project, the Iranian Customs spokesman added: "In order to make the above process smarter and improve the quality of case handling and reduce the response time of virtual experts, data mining methods have been used to refer the document according to experts' expertise and implement it in the first phase." It is done in the system and is ready for operation in the executive customs.
Regarding the use of smart tools to reduce risk management, Latifi said: "Smart and dynamic risk management has been used, as well as accreditation and review of social and financial risk and development of green route declarations to more than fifty-one percent last year." Regarding the intelligent control of goods, Latifi added: using intangible and non-intrusive controls using electronic sealing equipment, X-ray, CCTV cameras, barriers and license plate readers and transferring data to the center to process goods and control goods on the country's roads through electronic seals. And RFID antennas to facilitate formalities, control and customs process by relying on young and committed forces and using internal power are other customs measures in the field of intelligence.
The Secretary of the Customs Information Council announced the pursuit and launch of a virtual virtual gateway at the regional and international levels and said: "Development of a virtual virtual gateway to establish regional and international communications and exchange system information with agencies involved in trade and other countries." He added: "Also, in the report of the 2018 Competitiveness Index published by the World Economic Forum, Iran's Customs was able to move up from ninety-nine in 2017 to seventy-one in 2018 under the index of commodity clearance index."
