Ninety-eight mines are active in Qom province
Head of Qom Industry, Mining and Trade Organization: At present, ninety-eight mines are active in the province with an investment of more than one thousand and sixty-five billion rials and job creation for one thousand two hundred and ninety-four tons.
According to the International Exhibition of Iranian Stone, Mahmoud Sijani stated: In general, in the amount of one hundred and eighty-two mining licenses have been issued, of which ninety-eight mines are active and forty-eight mines are on the auction list.
He added: "Qom is one of the areas with high capacity in the field of mines, and paying attention to this economic area can bring a high income for the province."
He continued: "It is necessary to create a boom in production at the level of the province's mines to achieve this goal, and in this regard, banking facilities will be given to exploiters to develop activities and modernize the required machinery."
Sijani said: Registration of exploration areas, including the Sultan Basin for copper exploration by the National Iranian Copper Company, two common areas with neighboring provinces in the west and southwest of Qom with an area of four hundred and fifty square kilometers by Imidor Organization and areas derived from geophysical areas for exploration And iron metals by the Geological Survey are among the activities carried out to make the most of the mining capacity of Qom province.
He said: "As much as we can process the mining products extracted along with the mines, we have increased the province's income from this important economic area and in this regard we are looking to attract investors to build processing units along the mines in accordance with environmental principles."
He continued: "Currently, with the positive opinion of senior officials of the province, it is possible to expand investment and increase employment opportunities in the mining sector of Qom with the participation of the private sector and it can be introduced as one of the most desirable investment areas in the province."
There are two percent of the country's total mines in Qom, and this shows the need to pay more attention to the capacities of this field to increase the level of revenues in the province; In this regard, the strategy of Qom Industry, Mining and Trade Organization is to prevent the sale of raw materials extracted from minerals so that by processing them, more economic value will be created in the mining sector of the province.
The most important known reserves of Qom province include metal mines (lead, zinc, copper, manganese), non-metallic mines (kaolin, barite, salt and sodium sulfate) and minerals of building materials (decorative stones, marble, granite, carcass stones, silt And gypsum (stone gypsum) that by using new designs and optimal use of these minerals can generate lucrative business in the field of mineral industry in the province.
