Minister of Roads and Urban Development: The aim of this project is to modernize fifty-three thousand worn-out trucks with new trucks within three years.

According to the International Iranian Stone Exhibition, Mohammad Eslami added at the opening ceremony of the road freight fleet modernization plan: "This plan is a good response to the general policies of the system and the implementation of the fleet modernization law."

He considered the priority of this plan to be the drivers of trucks and added: "Natural and legal persons can enter the system from today and register according to the designed regulations and go through the cases to reduce the age of the fleet, which also leads to the exhaustion of drivers." Let's take action against environmental pollution and road accidents.

The Minister of Roads and Urban Development stated that priority is given to trucks over the age of 50 and added: "So far, eight hundred and sixty-three drivers who have had the most traffic have been selected who can refer to Iran Khodro Diesel and try to receive a modernized car."

He named the Benz brand as a gearbox and said: "As of today, we have invited four groups to join the project, the first of which includes the manufacturers of domestic trucks, which are awarded 1,000 units each year." The second is transportation companies, which have a fleet deficit and are likely to have their licenses revoked, the third group are car importers who have received licenses from the Ministry of Industry, and the fourth group are real people who can import ten devices a year.

Eslami emphasized: The source of foreign exchange supply must be informed to the Central Bank so that this currency does not enter the domestic market and we can be sure of its financial resources and invest only in the transportation industry.

He said that since 2009, only twenty-four thousand road fleets have been renovated, adding: "This amount is a very small figure compared to the three hundred and forty-six thousand active trucks in the country, which should be our domestic factories." During the leap year, production should increase and the fleet should be modernized as the roads develop.

The Minister of Roads and Urban Development said that the modernization of the fleet will improve road safety and reduce fuel consumption and environmental pollution, adding: "The purpose of this project is to modernize fifty-three thousand devices in three years and this should be earlier than three years." The goal is achieved and the average age of the fleet is reduced to five and a half years.

Regarding the lack of financial means for some drivers or owners of worn-out trucks who are unable to enter the project, Eslami said: "These drivers can enter the project together with the participation of importing companies or with the participation of two drivers."
