Extraction of more than five million tons of minerals from Zanjan
Head of Zanjan Industry Organization: More than five million and three hundred thousand tons of minerals have been extracted from the mines of Zanjan province.
According to the International Iranian Stone Exhibition, Nasser Faghfouri stated that Zanjan province has many mineral potentials, and said: "Currently, there are three hundred and twenty-one active mines in Zanjan province with thirty-six types of mineral diversity and investment in these mines." It is more than two thousand and seven hundred billion rials.
He announced the definitive reserves of these mines as six hundred and ten million tons and reminded: the employment created in these mines is more than three thousand and two hundred people.
The head of the Zanjan Province Industry, Mining and Trade Organization said: "Over the past year, more than five million and three hundred thousand tons of minerals have been extracted in Zanjan Province."
Faghfori emphasized: the production of lead and zinc minerals, boron sulfate, silica, industrial soil, decorative stone, gold and Ahk stone are a comparative advantage in Zanjan province.
He said that Zanjan is the second province to produce mineral stones in the country, adding that twenty-one percent of the mines in Zanjan province are metal mines, sixty percent are non-metallic mines and nineteen percent are facade stones.
The head of Zanjan Province's Industry, Mining and Trade Organization pointed to the problems facing mining units in the province and added: "Lack of a suitable market, wear and tear of machinery and equipment, and high cost are some of the problems of mining units in the province."
Faghfori emphasized: The most important building stones of Zanjan province are granite, including granites of Haji Siran and Zanjan regions and Abhar and Khorramdareh regions.
