The latest statistics released by the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Trade indicate that the number of mines licensed in the country is more than ten thousand four hundred and four mines, which in May this year announced the activation of more than five thousand six hundred mines. Therefore, according to these statistics, there are at least four thousand stagnant or inactive mines, and the rest have conditions such as being equipped or renovated and improved.

According to the International Stone Exhibition of Iran, the twelfth government has taken one of the important steps in the framework of resistance economy policies in the form of reviving inactive and inactive mines since last year, which is the implementation of a small mining rehabilitation project. , Mining and Trade activated one hundred and forty-six mines.

The issue of reviving small-scale mines, which are in fact related to closed mines, was announced in May 2016 by the then Minister (Mohammad Shariatmadari) to the provinces and the Minerals Production and Production Company (a subsidiary of Imidro) as the executor.

After new agreements were signed between the trustee and the executive body, the company entered the implementation phase on behalf of the Organization for the Development and Renovation of Mines and Mining Industries of Iran (Imidro). In addition, last year, the project was approved as one of the main programs of the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Trade as a resistance economy project.

Mining Rehabilitation Project Objectives

Use of existing capital in the private sector to activate small-scale mines, use small-capacity mining to increase mineral production and meet the needs of large-scale mining industries, facilitate capital supply for mines and identify small mineral opportunities for investors in different parts of the country, develop and create jobs Sustainable in less developed areas, the use of new technologies to process lower grade minerals and the optimal use and application of existing scientific-executive capacity and capabilities, financial resources, data, information and manpower as the objectives of this project are outlined. Statistics of the country's mines according to the Ministry

The latest statistics released by the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Trade show that the number of mines licensed in the country is more than 10,400 mines, and in May this year, more than 5,600 mines were announced to be active; Therefore, according to these statistics, there are at least four thousand stagnant or inactive mines, and the rest have conditions such as being equipped or renovated and improved.

Small-scale mining development methods

In the framework of the project, Imidro has developed various methods to pave the way for the development of such mines. Guaranteed purchase of all mining and mineral products and creation of processing units, assistance in building infrastructure in the form of partnerships with investors and mineral consumers, development of small mobile processing units using investment capacity by defining mineral packages in the form of small mines, financial support and granting Facilities that are important factors for setting up these mines include creating or expanding the market for mineral products domestically or internationally, conducting additional exploration and storage operations, sharing extra mining equipment, assisting in research and implementation, and achieving targeted branding. Minerals are also a set of methods that are on the agenda for the development of these mines.

Powers of the Supreme Council of Mines, Supportive Tools

The head of Iran's Mining House said: "Today, the powers of the Supreme Council of Mines of Iran should be used to speed up the process of reviving small-scale mines." Now the council has delegated some of its responsibilities to Imidro (Iran's Minerals Production and Production Company) to speed up the work and provide the infrastructure, and the supervisory team (composed of the Mining House, Iran Chamber, Deputy Minister of Mines, Ministry of Industry). , Mining and trade and management of the company to produce and produce minerals).

He said that the revival of small-scale mines is a measure of the company's performance in the production and production of minerals and is one of the plans of the resistance economy and is expected to play an effective role in supplying food to the mining industry.

Mohammad Reza Bahraman pointed out: Based on the evaluation of the mines closed by the mine recovery team, this issue is now being followed with three approaches; First, the exploiter is not qualified, second, the exploiter does not have the necessary financial capacity, and third, the mine's reserves are depleted.

Activation of stagnant mines

According to Bahraman, the mine recovery team is now considering these factors, and in fact it is a great help to the mining trustee (Deputy Minister of Mines of the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Trade) to activate this cycle.

He pointed out: "Today, in order to revive small mines, scale and lubricate them, the capability of all sectors must be used, and one-sided performance in this field does not make sense."

The Ministry of Industry, Mines and Trade announced last year that all provinces of the country will be covered by the small-scale revitalization, activation and development of small-scale mines by 1400.

Last year, 12 provinces were covered by the Small-Scale Mining Activation Project and it was estimated that a total of 50 small mines would be rehabilitated by the end of last year, but eventually announced the activation of 1,466 mines by the end of last year.

Small mines, scale and employment

If 15 people work for the activation of each mine, it will create employment for 750 people in the form of 50 mines, but last year, statistics released by Imidro showed that about 3,000 people were employed.

Bahraman added: "According to preliminary studies on 1,800 mines in the country, the mining rehabilitation program has been studied and this is a new move in the twelfth government; The new version, while making a new investment, will boost production and directly and indirectly employ about four hundred and twenty-five thousand people.

According to the plan to rehabilitate small-scale mines, the activation of five hundred mines with an employment rate of twenty-five thousand people was predicted, but now the outbreak of corona disease has affected all economic sectors of the country, in addition to social, cultural and ....

The head of Iran's Mining House emphasized: "The important issue in the field of small-scale mining rehabilitation project is to rely on the role of the Mining Activities Investment Insurance Fund, which can provide the basis for its objectivity." The operation of this fund is especially crucial for the entry of new machines and mining equipment without which the activity of the mining sector will not flourish.

Ministry of Industry, Mines and Trade and this year's program

The Deputy Minister of Mines and Mining Industries of the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Trade confirmed the revival and activation of one hundred and forty-six mines in the country last year, saying: "The ministry's plan for this year is to activate more than a thousand mines."

Pishrazal and Jihadullah Jafari, CEO of Iran Minerals Production and Production Company, said that until March 20, last year, in order to activate small-scale mines, about one hundred and forty-five mines have been activated and thirty-two mines have been activated.

He added: "Clinical studies have been carried out for eight hundred and eighty-one mines, such as recognizing the problems in the mine and finding complications."
