The Deputy Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade, stating that there are five thousand and six hundred active mines in the country, said: Last year, the amount of government salaries and the receipt of mines reached one thousand eight hundred and seventy one billion tomans.
According to the International Exhibition of Iranian Stone, "Dariush Ismaili" in the field of mining added: "Last year we reached four hundred and ten million tons of minerals and now the country's registered mineral reserves have reached fifty billion tons."
The Deputy Minister of Mines and Mining Industries explained: "Last year, 25 percent of the country's total non-oil exports were allocated to mining and mineral industries, and for this year, a plan to increase the country's mineral reserves by 20 to 25 percent is on the agenda."
According to Ismaili, there are now 10,400 mines in the country, and about 120,000 people are directly employed in the mines.
He added: "Activation of small-scale mines was on the agenda last year and will continue this year, and last year one hundred and forty-six mines were revived, and this year it is planned to target more than a thousand other mines."
Ismaili said: "Last year, it was possible to import 312 units of mining machinery and equipment, and production was positive in most areas of the mining industry, so that in the field of sponge iron, twenty-three units are active and in the field of steel sections, one hundred and twenty." Forty-eight production units were active.
The Deputy Minister of Mines and Mining Industries, Minister of Industry, said that last year two hundred and nine items were handed over. It is now available to zone managers.
According to him, more than 1,700 mines were inspected last year, and especially in the field of mine safety, 8,800 mines were specially inspected.
Regarding this year's programs, he said: "This year, twenty to twenty-five percent will be added to the country's mineral reserves, 30 percent will be extracted and twenty-five percent will be added to the production of mineral industries."
