Underscoring the need to find new markets today for export-oriented goods, the State Department's deputy director of economic diplomacy said: "This will not limit domestic production to domestic borders."

According to Iran's International Stone Exhibition, Gholamreza Ansari today (Tuesday) at the second national festival of Hatam (National Product Support) at the International Conference Center for IRIB added: Today we have witnessed the toughest sanctions in the history of a country, but The nation has been resilient, and we have grown in spite of sanctions in various areas, including copper, aluminum, steel, knowledge-based products, and agricultural products.

Ansari recalled the geographical position of Iran's geopolitical front and said: "Due to the severe political, economic and social crises in neighboring countries, we cannot rely too much on exports to these countries."

"Although the core of exports should be in the neighborhood, we should also move to trade agreements that can guarantee the export of our products, the weakest of which is preferential trade," he said.

The official cited the preferential trade agreement with the Eurasian Union, saying it was limited to three years and could later become a free trade agreement.

He said: Investigations show that within the first seventy-five days of the deal, nearly $ 800 million in commodity and financial exchange with the member states of the union was achieved, which was a great success and should be replicated as such.

Ansari added: Eco Preferential Trade Agreement, Eight Countries Agreement, Preferential Trade Agreement with Malaysia and India provide good opportunities for our country to export.

"It is imperative to steer production to new markets," he said.

Ansari noted: Self-sufficiency is not possible in all commodities, and no country has moved in that direction, the only way to exchange it is with other countries.

He said that the unique position of the country, the most important economic issue of Iran could be trade, which faced many problems before the revolution and today it has to be thought about.

The official emphasized: "There is a need to change the thinking inside and come up with new plans according to the human resources of the country."

He introduced the State Department's economic website at www.economic.mfa.gov.ir and said: "There are twenty-four hours of State Department staff and missions abroad and Iranian consulates are required to resolve problems." They are Iranian nationals.
