Iran's exports to Kuwait doubled
Vice President of Iran Chamber of Commerce Non-Oil Export Development Committee: If Iran can get involved in the project of Bubyan Island, it can connect Arvand and Khorsbayr free zones and create economic hub.
According to the International Stone Exhibition of Iran, Seyyed Mostafa Mousavi said about the trade process between Iran and Kuwait: This trend is increasing and the most influential option in this regard is climatic and kinship with Iran, so that 30% of Kuwaiti were of Iranian descent. Forty percent of the population is Shiite, which in turn attracts Iranian goods.
"Most of our exports to the country are food and building materials, and our export process has doubled in the last two years," he said. Most of our imports are machinery.
Mousavi continued: "However, there is little problem with our business with Kuwait because of the closed Kuwaiti situation, and this is mostly due to the lack of visas for merchants, which has made it difficult to trade with Kuwait so that the common room. Iran and Kuwait have twice requested a meeting with the ambassador of the country but have not received a response.
He said the increase in business came from the efforts of businessmen themselves. Of course, we are very comfortable in granting visas to Kuwaitis, but we do not see a reaction from Kuwaitis, so that getting a visa can take up to a year unless people stay in Kuwait and travel.
"At present, our export volume is 200 fifty million dollars, and if the obstacles are removed, there is also the potential to increase one billion dollars," he said. If a trilateral agreement is signed between Iran, Iraq and Kuwait to transport goods from Central Asia to Kuwait via Iran and the Shalamcheh border, this will certainly require consultations and economic diplomacy.
Referring to the role of some countries in the trade process between Iran and Kuwait, Mousavi said, "Kuwait has always tried to play a role of de-escalation in the region but in conservative trade it is trying to upset the US and Saudi Arabia." To date, there has been no trade-off with the Iranians, but we are witnessing Saudi Arabia's stoning and stoning.
The deputy chairman of the Iranian Chamber of Commerce's non-oil export development committee, referring to the two countries' cooperation in the energy sector, said that the island of Bubyan belongs to Iran, which lies between the three countries Iran, Kuwait and Iraq. The island has been occupied by the Chinese for ninety-nine years and this has increased construction and, of course, demand for Iranian building materials. If Iran can get involved in the project, it could connect the Arvand Free Zone and Khozbeir, and create an economic hub that has great potential for energy.
"Unfortunately, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Trade Development Organization have not taken significant action in this regard, as it is currently the center of gravity of the State Department's economic policy in the region focused on the three countries of Oman, Qatar and Iraq, and in its new policies," he said. Kuwait has been neglected.
Mousavi said: "Although we have good economic diplomacy with Qatar and Oman, this is not the case with Kuwait, while Kuwait is the most consumer-friendly country in the region with the highest monetary value in the world, and this can have good added value for us."
