Three hundred twenty mines are active in Zanjan province
The head of Zanjan province's industrial organization announced the presence of three hundred and eighty two mines in Zanjan province and said: Of these, 300 are active mines and sixty-two mines are inactive.
According to the International Stone Exhibition of Iran, Nasser Faghfouri told reporters at the Zanjan Provincial Organization of Industry about the presence of three hundred and eighty two mines in Zanjan province, saying: "Of these, 300 are active mines and sixty two are mines" is active.
He announced the number of jobs created in the mines in Zanjan province is 2,600 and one-seventy-one, adding that the investment in this sector is desirable.
The head of Zanjan Province Organization of Industry also announced the existence of thirty-five types of minerals in Zanjan province and said: Zanjan is the second province producing mineral stones in the country.
Fakhfouri emphasized: Twenty-one percent of Zanjan province's mines are metal mines, 60 percent are non-metallic mines, and nineteen percent are made of stone.
He declared the lack of proper market, the exhaustion of machinery and supplies and the high cost of the mines in Zanjan province and said: The problems in this sector are provincial and national.
Zanjan Provincial Organization of Industry Chairman said: The lack of mineral infrastructure to attract domestic and foreign markets is another important problem of mining in the province.
Faghfouri declared the most important rocks in Zanjan province as granite including granite of Haji Siran and Zanjan and Abhar and Khorramdareh area and said: There is more travertine in Dandi area.
