The International Stone Exhibition opens in Mahallah
The 12th International Stone Exhibition opened Tuesday in Nimur with the presence of the President of the Iranian Stone Association, the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce's Mineral Industries Commission, the Head of the Iranian Mining House and a group of officials from the Central Province.
According to the Iranian Stone Exhibition, the International Exhibition of Ornamental Stone is held in an area of ninety thousand square meters including twenty thousand square meters of indoor space and seventy thousand square meters of outdoor space.
The exhibition features the latest achievements in the field of decorative stone, facade processing, stone quarrying, mineral extraction machinery, quarrying equipment, mining and specialized machinery, and other related stone industries.
The head of Iran's International Stone Exhibition on the sidelines of the event said: "There are four hundred domestic and foreign companies in this period.
Behnam Nekfar added: "The open-air exhibition of two hundred mines from thirteen provinces of the country exhibited twenty thousand tons of stone crop and the country's largest stone crop hall has been set up.
The director of Iran International Stone Exhibition continued: Having a suitable space for displaying stone quarries of mines is one of the most important features of Nimur stone exhibition of neighborhoods.
Most of the booths in the exhibition belong to production units in the central province, and the rest to other provinces or foreign companies' representations, Nikfar added.
Managing Director of Iran International Stone Exhibition added: Iranian businessmen and businessmen from South Africa, Algeria, Turkmenistan, Russia, Afghanistan and Vietnam, as well as reputable foreign exhibition officials from India, Turkey, Italy and China and presence of international magazines and newspapers. Nikfar reiterated: Holding the second stone table in the country with the participation of mining elite and stone industry lecturers with the aim of export promotion on the third day of the exhibition and holding specialized and educational seminars with the presence of experts is another program of the 12th International Stone Exhibition.
He added: "The most important priority in this exhibition is the effort to increase the export of Iranian stone. Although the performance of the Iranian stone industry in the field of production and processing is defensible, there is a poor performance in export.
Iran's International Decorative Stone Exhibition is located ten kilometers from Mahallat city to Nimour city and from 8 to 11 October at the permanent site of Iran Stone Exhibition welcomes those interested.
There are seventy active stone mines in Mahallat city with a definite mineral reserve of thirty million tons.
Two million tonnes of ornamental raw material are extracted annually from these mines, and more than two percent of the world's building stone and eight percent of the world's travertine stone are produced in locales and used locally and overseas.
