Export of 400,000 square meters of decorative stone from Mahallat city

"These export cargoes are often shipped to Afghanistan, Qatar, Pakistan, Myanmar, Romania, Kazakhstan, Iraq and Russia," he said. Ten to fifteen percent of the country's rock travertine, mainly travertine, is mined and processed in local mines, which is unique in quality and quality.
He said: Mahalat city has as one hundred and fifteen mines as a stone pole producing country and sixty-two of them are active in travertine production. Maharashtra Travertine stone was registered worldwide after a year and a half process in December of this year.
Maleki continued: Travertine city stone has quality properties, technical specifications and special characteristics that are different from other parts of the country so it is included in the World Geographic Registration of the product and this product is registered as Travertine city of Iranian neighborhoods.
He explained: Global registration of a mineral or any other product, in addition to introducing more and increasing export capacity, will improve the added value of the product. The local travertine stone is one of the best examples of this product whose high quality and whiteness is known worldwide.
Maleki explained that the production and export of decorative and construction stone has a 50% share in the neighborhood economy.
There are seventy active ore mines in Mahalat town with a definite reserve of thirty million tons of stone and two million tons of ore are mined annually. The district of Mahallat, south of the central province, has a population of fifty-five thousand and has two hundred and fifty eighteen million square meters of stone processing units.
