Mohammad Reza Hajipour added: "The process of global registration of Travertine City of Mahalat took about a year and a half despite the international community's knowledge of this product.

He continued: Travertine stone city has its own quality neighborhoods, technical specifications and specific characteristics of the area that is different from other parts of Iran, so it is included in the Global Geographic Register of the product and this product is called "Travertine Neighborhood of Iran". The registration has arrived.

The head of the Central Organization of Mines and Commerce of Markazi Province said: Mahalat Travertine stone registration document has recently been sent to Iran and has been unveiled along with the documentation of eighteen other products in the Ministry of Industry, Mining and Trade.

Haji Pourafzood: Global registration of a mineral or any other product, in addition to introducing more and increasing export capacity, improves the added value of the product.

He said: In addition to the Travertine stone of Mahalat, Saveh pomegranate and Sarouk carpet have also been registered from the central province and it is expected that this important event will play a key role in boosting the non-oil exports of the central province.

Mahallat is considered as the country's ornamental stone production hub, with 60 percent of the country's construction stone produced in the mines. The city has been named the country's center of production of stone travertine with an annual production of 2.5m tonnes of travertine stone and accounts for 12% of the world's travertine production. There are seventy travertine mines and two hundred and fifty stone processing plants in the neighborhood.
