High prices, block the way to compete in the global rock markets
Governor of Neighborhoods: The finished product price in the stone industry is high and this reduces the power of competition in world markets.
According to Iran Stone International Exhibition, Hassan Ghammari at the inauguration ceremony of the 11th International Iranian Stone Exhibition in Nimour city of Mahalat, noting that Mahalat city is one of the unique cities with special features, stated: Mahalat city has features of These include rock, minerals, ornamental fish and tourism, which have played an important role in the development of the city and province.
Pointing out that more than two and a half percent of the world's stone reserves are in Mahallat city, he said: More than thirteen percent of the country's ornamental stone reserves are in Mahallat and half town, fortunately this opportunity creates a good opportunity for investment in this city. There are also more than 70 active mines and three hundred ore processing units in the city.
The district governor has said: Despite the country's 20-year policies and the supreme leadership's insistence that the oil and gas sector should be replaced, oil has not done well.
Pointing out that the amount of stone exported from the city last year was one million and two hundred thousand dollars, he said, the city's capacity to export is more than enough to be paid more attention in the field of mining and quarrying, Most of the equipment in the mines and processing units does not have high technology, which should be taken into consideration by the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Commerce in order to take an effective step in this direction.
He said: Given the high cost of investment in the stone and mining sector, we need cheap facilities in order to renovate, as well as those who have invested in this area need to be given more support and attention. Unfortunately, due to the high price of finished product, the performance in the scene is not good, while Turkey updated the equipment, reducing the finished product price and providing 24% of the world's exports and stones.
The Governor of Mahallat said: "The allocation of the stone table to Mahallat city should be a great opportunity for the province and the Mahallat city to take effective steps to improve the development of the stone and mining areas."
