Provide favorable conditions for export growth
Chairman of the Iranian Stone Association: Statistics show that the average price of our exported stone was $ 18, while for Italy it was $ 50, which indicates weakness in marketing and export, and the government did not support it either.
Abolghasem Shafi'i said on Tuesday at the opening ceremony of the 10th International Iranian Stone Exhibition: "People pay for mismanagement because the government does not provide the right infrastructure for export."
He added: "Thirteen years ago the number of Iranian stone mines was about eight hundred and the number of factories was about three thousand, and with that figure we exported $ 100 million annually at that time."
"Today we see only one factory in Spain exporting one hundred and sixty million euros of one type of stone, and the issue is that we should not just expand factories and mines," he said.
Shafiei noted: Although the factories nowadays operating in the localities have the latest Italian techniques, they have not been export-oriented.
He added: According to last year's statistics, Iran has about one thousand nine hundred ore mines, the export of crude stone from these mines is one hundred and forty-seven million dollars as well as six thousand and six hundred stone quarrying units, which export all the stones. Cut and exported from these units was one hundred and twenty-six million dollars.
So the head of the Iranian Stone Association acknowledged: "So exporting more than 50 percent of the crude stone shows that our score in the export issue is zero and even below zero, so we have to solve problems and problems and compliments are not working."
Shafiei said: Today, there are no local machines in this exhibition in a country that has so many mines and roads and all foreign machines, and even though we say the neighborhoods are the flower capital of Iran, but a flower shop in the Netherlands equals all the flowers. It sells flower shops.
He continued: "Today, stone imports are a threat to the Iranian stone industry and if they are imported into the country, factories in the neighborhood will go bankrupt, while the health of an industry is not threatened if imports are free."
The head of the Iranian Stone Association said at the end: "Statistics show that the average price of our exported stone was $ 18, while for Italy it was $ 50, which indicates weaknesses in marketing and export, and the government did not support it either." .
Shafiei said: "We must strive to change the situation in the true sense of the word, and the Iranian Stone Association is pursuing training, refurbishing mines, refurbishing factories and exports to address the four problems."
