Iran's stone industry needs economic security
Head of Mahalat City Stone Association: Iran's stone industry today needs security most of all; economic security, investment security and law security stemming from the stability and deepness of the laws, as well as export security in the form of strong business relationships And have a long time with different countries and we can plan for it.
According to Iran's International Stone Exhibition, Hossein Soroush, chairman of the Mahalat Stone Association, told the Iranian Stone News Agency in an exclusive interview that some of the laws governing the work of producers and managers of the stone industry have faced numerous problems. The failure of the law in the stone industry is enormous and it is necessary for the parliament to enter with all its force in this case. Other problems in the industry are rising water, electricity and gas costs.
"Construction is currently in recession and the stone industry, which is heavily dependent on construction and housing, is in recession," he said. We need modern and sophisticated machines to export stone to other countries, and there are many shortcomings. The number of factories equipped with state-of-the-art devices is very small and should be increased even without the support of the government and banks.
"The lack of liquidity and the lack of support from banks to provide cheap facilities has made it difficult for manufacturers," said the chairman of the Mahal Stone Association. He pointed out that the high age of the stone industry, which is intertwined with Iranian culture and rich mineral reserves are among the strengths of this industry. Many people are familiar with the mining industry as well as the experience of our miners. The main weaknesses of Iran's stone industry are its low presence in international markets and exports. Many of the problems we have today in the export issue are due to the wrong economic policies that governments have adopted at different times.
Soroush said: We rank low in the quality and export of processed stone, which is a sign of our great weaknesses in this part of the stone industry. We are about 40 years away from global market standards. Our foreign and trade relations with some countries are not good. There are, of course, some factories that are very successful in exporting, but very few.
He emphasized: Iran's stone industry today needs security first and foremost; economic security, investment security and law security stemming from the stability and deepness of the rules, as well as export security in such a way that long-lasting and long-standing business relationships Have some time with different countries and we can plan for it.
