The head of the Organization of Mining Engineers said the export of Iranian ornamental stones to Turkey was extensive and said that the country exported them under its own name by processing them.
According to Iran's International Stone Exhibition, Hormuz Nassernia, head of the Mining Engineering Organization, told a news conference today: "With its rich mineral reserves, Iran has a good place to invest in minerals, despite the fact that it produces 400 million tonnes a year Mining takes place in the country and there are seven thousand active mines, but we have not had much growth in the mining industry.

Nassernia continued: "There are all kinds of stones found in the world, including Iran, and it is unfortunate that neighboring Iran is exporting our stones under its own name, while all kinds of Decorative stone is found in travertine and marble in Iran and even many of our stones are exported to countries such as America.
He said: "We have developed technical standards for mining and in line with the program to attract foreign investors, we have been able to commercialize senior student and doctoral projects through a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Science."
"Some of the negotiations we have done in previous periods are now coming to an end, and some have progressed to the conclusion of the contract, but there are still major obstacles on the way," he said. If foreign investment is to flourish in the country, then the necessary infrastructure and software issues should be provided as well, as the government has been welcoming foreign investment for many years, but unfortunately it does not.
