The backwardness of the stone processing industry in Iran
The head of the Organization for Mining Engineering announced the sale of Iranian crude to other countries, including Turkey, and said that foreigners are processing these stones and exporting them under their own names.
According to Iran's International Stone Exhibition, Hormuz Nasrinia said at a news conference about the backwardness of the stone processing industry in the country: Currently, many countries, including Turkey, buy construction stones from Iran and after processing, it With their name.
"This is mostly about travertine, marble and igneous rocks, and even processed stones are exported to the United States," he said.
During the last three years, companies from Italy, Austria, Germany, Canada, South Africa and China have expressed a willingness to participate in Iran's mining and mineral industries, but we have yet to conclude them, the company said. No contract.
Foreign investors are more interested in mining activities in the fields of heavy metals such as nickel and titanium, steel and gold.
Pointing out some problems in attracting foreign investors, he said: Securing capital, how to make profits and returning capital and labor issues are among the things that need to be addressed to attract foreign investors.
According to Nassernia, capital flows out of the country easily, but we do not have the proper infrastructure and laws to access foreign capital.
He pointed out: Governments have always been attracted to foreign capital, but their program and performance have been such as to make it difficult for foreign investors to enter the country.
Referring to the production of more than 400 million tonnes of minerals per year in Iran, he said: "At present we have more than 7,000 active mines in the country, but we have not had a good growth in the mining industry."
